2022 saw the international travel industry return to pre-pandemic activity, with the yachting industry experiencing one of its busiest years on record. Although the year started on a positive note, the breakout of conflict in Ukraine at the end of February resulted in the seizure of multiple Russian-owned superyachts across the world. This, however, allowed an increase in demand from many of our US clients, who – encouraged by the strength of the dollar – dominated the sales and charter market this year.
To celebrate the end of another great year at Kitson Yachts, here are our top highlights:

Kitson Yachts Co-founder, Michael Tabor, joined Yahoo Finance Live to discuss yacht market trends amid market volatility, inflation, and geopolitical issues as well as the outlook for the yachting industry.
PALM BEACH INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW
One of the highlights of the south Florida yachting calendar, the show was held on Flagler Drive in downtown West Palm Beach and attracted a wide range of industry stakeholders and yacht clients to view over $1.2 billion worth of vessels on display – from tenders to superyachts. The team at Kitson Yachts welcomed multiple clients to the show, where we visited some of the industry’s most exciting vessels on the market.

Kitson Yachts launched its European Headquarters in Antibes, with a team of sales and charter professionals.
MEDITERRANEAN CHARTER SUCCESS
Our charter team kicked off the 2022 summer season by attending the Mediterranean Charter Show in Greece and completed a number of successful charters on vessels ranging between 30m – 90m+ in St Tropez, Cannes, Monaco, Portofino, Amalfi Coast, Maldives and more.

MONACO YACHT SHOW 2022
Our team of charter and sales brokers attended this year’s Monaco Yacht Show – one of the most prestigious Superyacht events globally – where we showcased two yachts for sale: 44m Abeking & Rasmussen, Bravado and 44m Hakvoort, Big Easy. We also hosted a number of VIP clients to our exclusive cocktail party onboard Big Easy in conjunction with our partners, SuperyachtOne.

As part of our ongoing new build projects, our team visited the Feadship Royal Van Lent Shipyard in Amsterdam to meet the team responsible for the construction of some of the industry’s most innovative superyachts.
